Questions on money...
Living Stones has planted! How does that affect giving?
It's more important than ever that all those that call Living Stones home, give financially. Grace
Church has watered us well, and now that we’re on our own two feet, we need to continue to sustain our
income and step-up.
Now that we’ve planted, all funds—both General Giving and LS Plant Giving—will be lumped together. Your
giving will still go toward paying power bills, facility rental costs, staff salaries, missions, etc.
and the elders of LS will distribute as needed. As always, we have an open-door policy in regard to our
finances—feel free to contact one of the elders or pastors with your questions at any time.
We take our finances very seriously and plan a conservative budget each year. Some are leery about church
spending, but our experience has been that people are excited and encouraged when they see how we spend.
For all of you who give faithfully and sacrificially at Living Stones, we thank you. For those that maybe
haven't ever started, we encourage you to do so today. If you believe that God is using Living Stones for
His kingdom, please support His work!
How does Living Stones spend the money?
All money that comes into Living Stones is used for ministry. As a general rule, our spending breaks
down into the following:
60% - Staffing. Our staff salaries are determined by an objective outside source, the "Annual Compensation Handbook."
20% - Facilities and utilities. Turning the lights on, keeping the sanctuary warm/cool, our building and offices.
10% - General ministry budgets. This covers supplies for our major ministries.
10% - Mercy/Missions. This includes overseas missions and local mercy projects, but doesn't include staffing for missions.
Why do people give financially?
Every believer in Christ has the responsibility to support their local church. Jesus emphasized the importance of
giving over and over. In fact He spoke of money more than heaven and hell...because money is often a good barometer
of what is important in someone's life.
Everything we have is from Him. Because of the goodness and grace that Jesus has shown his followers, it only makes
sense that his followers would respond in sacrificing time, talents, and treasures.
Over and over again, Christians are called to give to the local church and live generously with those around them;
it is out of obedience to Jesus and for his glory that we ask the same. See Acts 2, 2 Corinthians 9.

Please keep in mind—we never ask visitors or those who do not call themselves followers of Christ to give financially.
As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like
living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable
to God through Jesus Christ. [1 Peter 2:4-5]
